29 Jul Forklift Technician V. Automotive Technician
When people think of becoming a mechanic/technician, they automatically assume the automotive industry. Many don’t realize many other industries, like the material handling industry, need technicians. When you become a forklift technician, you sign up for competitive pay, better benefits, and greater career advancements. With positions in Ocala and Jacksonville, Florida, and Valdosta and Savannah, Georgia, including remote positions, Lift Power has an opening across the Southeast. Whether you’re new to the industry or have forklift repair experience, Lift Power is the perfect place to grow your career as a forklift technician, celebrating 50 years in 2021 and a premier dealer of Crown Equipment, Doosan, Komatsu, and more. Here are some of the benefits of transitioning from an automotive mechanic to a forklift technician.
Practice Work-Life Balance
As a forklift technician, you will generally be working Monday – Friday, with room for overtime opportunities and paid vacation.
Company Vehicle
We provide our technicians with a company van or truck they take home each night and cover all fuel charges.
Hourly Pay
We pay our technicians hourly instead of a flat rate, ensuring they earn more for the work they do, including overtime. Also, on average, forklift technicians make more than automotive mechanics (however, pay depends on region and experience level).
Career Advancements
We ensure the work our technicians do doesn’t go unappreciated; at Lift Power, there is room for career advancements for all our employees, including our forklift technicians.
Paid Training
Lift Power offers all our technicians in-the-classroom and field training to ensure they are equipped with the tools they need to succeed.
Tools
Apart from the van, our technicians are equipped with the unique material handling tools they need to work. Hand tools will be at the technicians’ expense but are your tools to keep and take home with you each night. We do offer a boot allowance, company cell phone, tablet, safety gear, and other resources to help you succeed.
Other Benefits
Last, as a forklift technician, we offer tuition reimbursement, incentive plans, competitive health and wellness benefits, an employee appreciation program, 401(k) with company match, and more.
Our forklift technicians are a huge part of our operation, the face of our company, and a massive part of our outstanding reputation in the material handling industry. Our focus on hiring, training, and continued development of our technicians is to ensure both our customers and employees are satisfied. Whether you are looking to transition from an automotive mechanic or looking for a career change, there is an opportunity for you at Lift Power.
